great pic, i`m very interested in cultures of this age.
But i`ve never seen a "soldier" like this one, very nice work =D

The soldier is actually based on descriptions in the history of that era. It is said that the professional heavy infantry of the state of Wei (not the Three Kingdoms Wei) wore what they described as the three layered armor complete with bronze pieces and plates.

Each individual soldier in this group was granted a plot of land and could retire without fear of taxation. It probably bankrupted the state.

i thought the chinese armies at the time just used spears and crossbows. didnt think they had shields. whered you get the reference? ive been looking for stuff on this period of history

i never think that chinese in that age have such a heavy armored infantry.. maybe i was wrong
